brand new class ! Quick Change Costume making class 3rd and 4th May 2025 £650

This course runs over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of May. I have been asked a lot about running a course of this kind, so here it is. A quick change costume is a closely guarded secret amongst illusionists and it is a well guarded secret with costume makers too. In this course you will be shown how to make this incredible allusion. Cinderella always springs to mind when I think about quick change costumes. The audience’s eyes are fixed on the shabby dress but in the blink of an eye she spins around and as if by magic a gorgeous ball gown is revealed!
On this course we can only take a maximum of ten. There will be two teachers, myself and another expert in this field. The base leotard without sleeves can be made in advance for you by us or you can make your own before you come, please remember this class is all about learning the technique and  the engineering of a quick change ensemble so the size and colour is irrelevant. It is more important that you can concentrate on the 2nd costume which hides the first costume so well the illusion will have the audience gasping… ( after all who doesn’t like a little magic)  Please remember Cinderella is referenced so that you are fully aware of what a quick change costume is. On this course you will be making a completely different costume to the base so you can see exactly how it is done. Once you have learned these skills you should be able to apply it to whatever you want.
A 2/2 is a 2 costume quick change …. A full quick change can be 4 or even 6 costumes in one. on this course we are doing a 2/2. A training manual will be handed out on the day, your Lycra is included in the class. It is not necessary to be making for someone specific on this class as it is purely educational.
The course is £650.

What skill do I need to be at to access this course? You will need to be able to make a costume. This class is not for beginners, so please make sure that you can work with Lycra and make a costume.

what equipment do I need to bring with me?   you need to have a overlocker and a sewing machine in good working order.. ( please check beforehand). You will also need a mannequin, your sewing accessories such as scissors etc and don’t forget your lunch!

I have a couple of spare machines for those of you that are flying in from other countries. I can also help assist you with an hotel should you need one .
