On this ‘COME SEW WITH ME’ class I introduce you to the world of costume making, from pattern reading to making the actual costume.
You will need to bring a sewing machine and a overlocker. I have a couple spare for people to borrow but it is much better for you to have your own. Please make sure that these work! the last thing we want is sewing machines that don’t work so please test them before you come. I will provide your pattern and your lycra etc, There will be a shop on for you to purchase supplies on the weekend. You will need to also bring 5 reels of cotton to match the colour of the costume that you are making (or you can buy these from me). I will need to know in advance the colour so I can prepare your packs, so please look at the Lycra I sell on the website. you will also need to bring scissors, pins, needles , greaseproof paper (for tracing the pattern out) paper weights and a mannequin (if you have one) etc. These classes are small (5 max) so that I can concentrate on you all. We will all be making the same pattern, which we be a versatile pattern chosen by me that you can use over and over again. If you are making for anyone specific please bring the following measurements, chest, waist, hips (the fullest part of the bum) and the girth. If you are unsure how to measure I can arrange a FaceTime call with you to show you. Measurements don’t need to be taken until the end of January as kids fluctuated grow!.
